On Wednesday 26th June visitors from the National Skills Academy for Food & Drink and Samworth Brothers came in to lead an exciting day with year 8 where the students did an ‘Apprentice’ style task where they had to work together to design a new sandwich product. The students worked in teams of 6 and all had an allocated role. They were able to attend expert workshops on food production and taste some samples of different sandwiches before pitching their idea to a panel of experts in the afternoon.
The visitors commented on the excellent attitude of our students and some genuinely innovative ideas were developed and some very engaging pitches delivered.
Well done to all of year 8 who took part. There will be rewards given out to several groups in the last week of term.
