At English Martyrs’ Catholic School, we are committed to making a positive impact in our world by encouraging both action and generosity. We inspire our students and staff to not only contribute financially but also to dedicate their time and efforts to support important causes. By raising funds and promoting awareness, we aim to help those in need and make a difference in our local and global communities.
In recent years, through the generosity of our school community, we have raised over £XX to support a variety of charitable organizations, including:
- Rainbows
- Charity Link
- CAFOD
- City of Sanctuary
- Migrant Help
- Breast Cancer Now
- Missio
We seek out creative ways to raise money and engage our school community, including:
- Sponsored events (e.g., fun runs, walkathons, and talent shows)
- Charity auctions and raffles
- Non Uniform days and cultural themed events (e.g. Cultural day)
- Coffee Mornings & Bake sales and food drives
- Community music performances and concerts
- Student-led fundraising initiatives
These activities not only raise vital funds but also foster a spirit of collaboration and empathy among our students, staff, and families. Together, we are making a lasting impact!

Staff and Student Charity for 2025:
As we approach our 60th Anniversary in 2025, our school community will unite to support a charity that aligns with our ethos of giving and making a difference. More details to follow in the coming months.
We are incredibly grateful for the generosity shown by everyone in our school community. Your contributions—whether in the form of time, donations, or support at events—are truly making a positive impact.
Our Partnership with Neighbourly
This year, we’ve also partnered with Neighbourly, an organization dedicated to reducing local food waste and supporting community projects. Neighbourly organizes volunteer days through local companies who donate their time to improve our environment. These days have allowed us to work alongside our community to enhance our school grounds and local area. Learn more about Neighbourly’s work and projects here.
Generous Donations
We are deeply appreciative of the generosity of local businesses and community members. Some recent donations include:
- Wickes: Supplies to improve working areas in the school
- Travis Perkins: Wood offcuts for student projects
- The Woodland Trust: Trees that our students have planted during science lessons
- MusicFest: Financial support for school trips and visits
- External Organist Grant & Ernest & Dorothy Chester Fund: Contributions to the music department
- Mattiolo Woods: Music donations to support student activities
- Gifts in Wills: Generous donations from deceased members of our community and long time advocats for the school.
These contributions make a huge difference in the life of our school, helping us provide enriching experiences for our students and improve our facilities. We look forward to continuing our work with these charities and partners in the year ahead and thank you for your ongoing support.
