On Wednesday 8th June, Year 7 students took part in an International Morning, where they celebrated the culture of the Francophonie.

In French lessons, they learned about French as a global language, spoken by 300 million people in 54 member states across 5 continents.

In English lessons, students learned about Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s well-loved story “The Little Prince” and about the many writing styles of Raymond Queneau.

In Art and Design lessons, students learned about Guillaume Apollinaire’s Calligramme poems and their links to Surrealist, Cubist and Orphist art and created some of their own Caligrams.

Beautiful artwork was created and a writing challenge was set – bring on the creativity!
