On Thursday 16^th May, the PE department took a total of 56 students from years 7-9 to compete at the West Leicester Area Athletics Championships at Saffron Lane. The day was not ideal in terms of weather and performance conditions, however all students that attended were still able to demonstrate resilience and compete to a high standard in the majority of track and field events against other West Leicester Secondary Schools also in attendance.

Throughout the day our students had many successful performances which has resulted in the U15 Boys team being crowned champions, but also 11 of our students have qualified to represent English Martyrs at the Leicestershire and Rutland County Athletics event next month. This fantastic achievement will provide those students with the opportunity to compete against other winners from alternative events at Loughborough University on Thursday 20^th June 2024.
