VICE PRINCIPAL VACANCY
English Martyrs’ Catholic School, A Voluntary Academy
Vice Principal: Curriculum Intent, Impact and Staff Welfare
Vice Principal: Curriculum Implementation and Student Welfare
Two committed, practising Catholic’s are required from August 2020
Paid at Leadership Scale L19 to L23
As our students will tell you, English Martyrs’ is a wonderful school. We are proud of our strong academic tradition, our rich, broad and varied curriculum – in and out of class – and our students’ outstanding achievement leading to university studies, modern apprenticeships and a wide range of careers.
As a founder member of the St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Multi-Academy Trust (CMAT), English Martyrs’ benefits from a wide range of support from the CMAT central team including but not limited to School Improvement, Lay Chaplaincy, HR, Finance and Business Services. In addition, our staff enjoy membership of a wide range of CMAT networks offering support, development and career enhancement.
Following the promotion of the current Vice Principal to a Headship in another Catholic Secondary school in Leicester, and the imminent retirement of another, English Martyr’s Catholic Academy is looking to appoint two Vice Principals from August 2020. The successful candidates will work closely with the Principal, supporting his strategic vision for the school and developing the skills of our ambitious and determined staff.
The new appointees will be strategic thinkers and planners with clear and principled vision in leading others through effective, long-term, change-management, with humility and determination. As practising and committed catholic educators, they will hold a deeply personal commitment to the excellent and broad secondary provision that serves our diverse community.
This is a reserved post which means that applicants must be practising Catholics. Please consult the document produced by the Diocese of Nottingham ‘Catholic Schools and the Definition of a Practising Catholic’ for further information.
We are proud of our commitment and investment in staff development and the appointed people can expect an induction programme suited to their needs and continuing professional development as their career progresses including the opportunity to work collaboratively across our regional multi-academy trust.
If you are interested in finding out more about these roles – or other opportunities at this level in our secondary schools – please contact the trust HR team on 0116 2968164 or email email@example.com
Closing date for completed applications is 10am Monday 16th December 2019
Interviews will be held in January 2020
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) check.
