On Wednesday 17th November 2021, all of our year 10 students participated in a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation training session, delivered by the PE department. As part of the British Heart Foundation’s Restart a Heart programme, students learnt how to deliver effective hands-only CPR on a training dummy and learnt when and why this life saving skill may be required.

Students were also taught about the importance of defibrillators and were made aware of their location in school and on Anstey lane.

The PE staff delivering the sessions throughout the day were impressed with the mature and responsible attitude demonstrated by all students involved. This was especially evident at the end of sessions when students were provided with the opportunity to ask relevant and important questions to enhance their knowledge about the topic.
