Congratulations to Evie W (Speaker), Amelia M (Chair) and Jaime J (Questioner), who won the first round of the prestigious National ESU-Churchill Public Speaking Competition.

This demanding competition requires students to speak confidently to an audience on their chosen topic under strict time conditions. Each member of the team takes on a designated role of Chair, Speaker and Questioner.

The English Martyrs’ team was up against two teams from Oundle School and coped superbly with the added challenge of the competition being run on Zoom this year. The Year 10 team can be very proud to have reached the Area Final due to take place in January 2022.
