On 3rd November, the Year 10 boys’ football team played South Wigston High School in the second round of the ESFA National Football Cup. The game was played at English Martyrs’ and the score was 2-2 after 80 minutes, with Junior and Micheal scoring the two goals. Both teams played with great intensity and sportsmanship. Eventually the tightly contested match went into penalties, with English Martyrs’ winning them 3-1.

 

Man of the match was Beri, our captain, who made two saves during the shootout and also scored the winning penalty.

 

The English Martyrs’ Year 10 boys’ team will now progress further into round 3 of the cup and will travel to play a school in Derbyshire. Congratulations on your latest success and good luck for the upcoming match, Year 10!
