English Martyrs  has officially launched its elections for the Leicester Young People’s Council with a lively hustings event today. Four candidates are vying for the opportunity to represent the school at the city-wide council, each eager to make their mark and advocate for their peers.

The candidates include Adele T and Frank F, both in Year 7, alongside Paula and Roque, who are in Year 12. Each candidate presented their manifesto and election poster to the student body, outlining their plans and vision for the role.

Following the presentations, students across the school were invited to cast their votes, choosing the candidate they feel would best represent the interests of their fellow students at the Leicester Young People’s Council.

The results will be announced next week, with the top two candidates securing the prestigious positions. These students will represent English Martyrs on a city-wide level in collaboration with Leicester City Council, serving a two-year term on the Leicester Young People’s Council.
