– Module 4 – Electrons, Waves and Photons – Current, Charge, Resistance, Circuit Theory, Waves, Quantum Physics

Year 13:
– Module 1 – Development of Practical Skills
– Module 5 – Newtonian World and Astrophysics – Thermal Physics, Circular Motion, Oscillations, Gravitational Fields, Astrophysics and Cosmology
– Module 6 – Particles and Medical Physics – Capacitors, Electric fields, Electromagnetism, Nuclear and Particle

ASSESSMENT

AS
June of Year 12
– Breadth in Physics – assesses content from all modules (50%) – 90 minute exam
– Depth in Physics – assesses content from all modules (50%) – 90 minute exam
– Practical endorsement – not examined and reported separately

A Level
June of Year 13
– Component 01 – assesses content from modules 1, 2, 3 and 5 (37%) – 135 minute exam
– Component 02 – assesses content from modules 1, 2, 4 and 6 (37%) – 135 minute exam
– Component 03 – assesses content from all modules (26%) – 90 minute exam
– Practical endorsement – not examined and reported separately

5 Grade 4s and above to include Grade 6 in GCSE Physics or Double Science and Grade 6 in Mathematics
