This year we have had a consistently large number of students from years 7-10 attend the after school cricket club on a Wednesday afternoon. The atmosphere around this club has been incredible, with new students to the sport coming along and being coached by their more experienced peers.

As a result, we were able to enter a year 7/8 and a year 10 team into the West Leicester school cricket league. This has provided many of our students with the opportunity to play in their first competitive cricket fixtures against the likes of Lancaster and Beaumont Leys.

Our year 7/8 team played in some tightly contested fixtures where there were only a few runs making the winning margins, but both times we were unfortunately on the losing side. Our year 10 team were more successful, however, and following a defeat against a much more experienced team at Lancaster, they played superbly against Beaumont Leys to secure their first victory.

A massive thanks and well done to all students involved, and keep an eye out for indoor cricket events that will be coming up in the new academic year!
