The year 8 boys football team have been crowned Leicester City Champions for the 2025/26 season. In January, English Martyrs hosted the city final against Moat School following both schools winning the West and East City tournaments earlier in the school year.

All 18 of the year 8 students involved in this city final displayed great teamwork, resilience and determination and so far, have won all their football fixtures this season – scoring plenty of goals but maybe more impressively not conceding many at all.

In the city final, English Martyrs dominated possession as usual and converted their dominance into goals – with the match ending 8-0.

Congratulations to all students involved and good luck in the upcoming County Cup, where the team will now play Castle Rock School in the quarter final.
