Last week, the year 8 and 10 Boys’ football teams delivered competitive performances in their scheduled matches.
The year 8 team had their first round of local league fixtures following some really impressive training performances at after school club. They played very well in their first game, dominated possession and took the majority of their chances and ended up 6-0 winners against Beaumont Leys – with Dylan scoring his first hat trick for school!
Their second match was much more of an equal contest, however Babbington this time were more clinical in front of goal and were 5-1 winners.
The year 10 Boys football team continued their run in the ESFA National Cup as they travelled to Barrs Hill School in Coventry for round 2. The game was dominated by English Martyrs, however the group needed to show great resilience in coming from behind twice before eventually winning the match 3-2. Great goals from Wisdom, Callum and Edgar helped the team to progress into the 3rd round which will be away at Beaumont Leys.
