On Thursday 5^th June the English Martyrs PE department took 16 students to the annual Leicestershire and Rutland County Athletics Championship. All students in attendance had qualified to compete through their performances at area athletics last in May.

The County Athletics Championship was held at the Paula Radcliffe Stadium which is located at Loughborough University.

Overall, the team of English Martyrs students, consisting of students from years 7 – 9, performed really well and thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to compete at such a fantastic athletics stadium.

Despite the heavy showers and wet conditions, we had 2 students from year 7 that performed incredibly and were crowned County Champions:

Noah  (7FI) – Won the U13 Boys High Jump

Amaka  (7FI) – Won the U13 Girls 100m
