The year 11 Boys football team have had a very successful week, having won all of their 3 matches in both the local West Leicester league and ESFA National Cup.

On Tuesday, the team played Beaumont Leys and Babbington, winning both fixtures 1-0 thanks to goals from Matteo and Chris.

On Thursday, the team travelled away to Kibworth Mead School for the first round of the ESFA National Cup. The opposition started strongly and took a well deserved lead. However, the entire English Martyrs team displayed great resilience and perseverance to stay in the game and were rewarded with an equaliser before half time thanks to a wonderful drive from Jordy.

The second half was an entirely different game, with English Martyrs dominating possession and eventually ended the game with a 5-2 victory, goals coming from Kayne (2), Matteo and Archie.

All of the players involved were superb and should be extremely proud of their efforts this week in all football matches. The players that have particularly stood out as top performers were Mateusz, Christian and Jordy.
