On Thursday 15th May 2025, the English Martyrs PE department took its largest-ever team to represent the school at the annual West Leicester Area Athletics competition. Hosted by the Inspire Together team, the event saw students from English Martyrs compete against other local secondary schools in a variety of track and field events at Saffron Lane Athletics Stadium.

This year, we entered boys’ and girls’ teams in both the U13 (Year 7) and U15 (Years 8 and 9) categories. All four teams performed exceptionally well, finishing either second or third overall out of eight participating schools.

A huge well done to all students involved for their dedication and effort, both in competition and through their commitment at after-school athletics club.

The following students delivered outstanding performances in their events and have been selected to represent the school at the County Athletics Championships at Loughborough University on Thursday 5th June:
