Today we welcomed Year 11 students to our Spotlight on Sixth Form event – a programme of talks to see how English Martyrs’ Sixth Form could help students prepare for their future careers.
A busy schedule of talks commenced with a presentation by Mr Neville on applying to Oxford, Cambridge and Russell Group universities. Aspiring medics then heard from Mrs Singh about specific demands of a career in Medicine and the rigorous application process. Budding engineers then learnt about the spectrum of opportunities in Engineering from Dr Nyawako and Mrs Suraweera.
After lunch students explored the extensive career opportunities in Music and the Arts with Mrs Bishop and Mrs Chatterson. Miss Corcoran then gave a valuable insight into careers in industry before Mr Sadler explored Careers in Science.
We are extremely fortunate to offer such a wide range of specialisms to enable students to pursue varied careers.
It has been wonderful to hear from students about how helpful they have found this event and we are excited to welcome them to our Sixth Form in September!
