On Monday, November 25th, representatives from Samworth Brothers visited English Martyrs’ School to work with the two winning teams from the ‘Tasty Schools Challenge,’ which took place last summer.
The challenge tasked groups of Year 9 students with designing a new and innovative sandwich product. After much brainstorming and creativity, two teams emerged victorious: Bazinga Bites and Dumpy’s Deluxe.
These teams had the exciting opportunity to collaborate with professional bakers from Samworth Brothers to bring their ideas to life. The students worked alongside the bakers to perfect their winning sandwiches and then presented their creations to the school staff, explaining the design process behind each product.
The final results were both visually stunning and delicious. The sandwiches, wraps, and even a sweet sandwich with sealed edges were as colourful as they were creative. The staff members who tasted the products were full of praise for both the taste and the innovation on display.
Congratulations to all the Year 9 students involved for their hard work and culinary ingenuity!
