On the 25th June EMCS organised a ‘Health Fair’ for Years7-10 to promote student health & well-being with Leicestershire Partnership Trust. This event followed a well-being questionnaire which school Nursing team conducted with students.
It was a successful event where students had an opportunity to meet and talk with other agencies that they might not have been aware of. All the external agencies have extensive experience of working with & supporting children and young people.
In the Health Fair, School nursing team prioritised the importance of Sleep and gave general advice & information on how to stay healthy.
Other agencies like Living Without Abuse, Leicestershire Police, Turning point, Tellmi, Centre for Fun and Families ( Headsup), Leicestershire Nutrition and Dietetics, SEMH team, Learning and communication team ( autism) and Love4life ( charity for girls with low self-esteem) were also present.
All of the organisations who attended commented on how engaged and polite the young people were. Students were commended on their mature behaviour, thought provoking questions, and their overall interest in health & wellbeing.
The school looks forward to hosting more events like this with students early in the next academic year.
