On Tuesday 30th September, the year 8 boys football team had their first match outside of school in the west Leicester school football competition. The team travelled to Beaumont Leys to play in a one off match to determine which school would progress to the next phase of the competition.
This first half ended in an evenly contested 0-0 with Kacper making some vital stops in goal.
Beamount leys then took the lead after being awarded a penalty.
However, the English Martyrs team continued to show resilience and determination and were eventually rewarded with 3 goals, coming from Francis, Patryk and Lucien. Eventually winning 3-1.
Congratulations to all 13 students involved! It was a very tough decision to name a player of the match as all students performed so well, however Daniel particularly stood out to Mr Johnson and Mr Nicholson for his consistency and determination displayed throughout all 60 minutes of the match.
