On Tuesday, 12th May, four students travelled to The Avon Velley School, Rugby to take part in the regional final of the English Speaking Union (ESU) Performing Shakespeare competition. Lorena and Kaja (both year 7) performed Act 3 Scene 2 from A Midsummer Night’s Dream; And Alysia and Lex (both year 9) performed Act 2 Scene 5 from Romeo and Juliet.

All competitors, including those from The Avon Valley School, Madani School and Sir Christopher Hatton Academy, showcased impressive performances, earning praise from the judges.

Unfortunately, our students did not get picked to take part in the Grand Final this year, but they performed and conducted themselves brilliantly throughout the evening; and it was lovely to see how supportive they were of all the competitors. They all delivered very confident and well put together speeches and their performances were full of character and energy.

Congratulations and we hope they will return to take part again next year.
