Congratulations to the Physical Education department at English Martyrs’ and all students who have been awarded a ‘Gold’ School Games Mark for the third year in a row, and to reflect the 2024/25 academic year.
The School Games, which is funded by Sport England and delivered by the Youth Sport Trust, involves funded School Games Organisers (SGOs) at a local level and Active Partnerships at a county level working alongside us to create an annual calendar of competition for students to compete in.
This Gold Award has been accredited to the Physical Education department at English Martyrs’ as a reflection of the large and extensive sport and physical activity opportunities that our students have access to, both in and outside of curriculum time.
A massive thank you goes out to all of the staff in school that help to support all activities at English Martyrs’ and allow us to offer an expansive co-curricular PE programme – and of course thank you to all of the students that get involved in the activities we offer.
Our after-school club PE programme for the 2025-26 academic year will be shared with students in September and we look forward as a department to go for the platinum award!
