On Wednesday the 30th of April, year 9 and 10 students were visited by Dr Brian Costello from the University of Leicester. The talk was focussed on the Tobacco, Health and History project currently being undertaken at the University. Students learnt about the project and the cutting-edge research being done. They were able to handle tobacco pipes used in the 17th and 18th centuries and consider how archaeological research can impact modern health. The students saw how all of their subjects can be applied to a sector within humanities and heritage.
