On Wednesday, 26th March, we held our much-anticipated Annual Cultural Day at EMCS, and it was truly a day to remember! Students from all year groups embraced the occasion by wearing traditional clothing reflecting their family heritage, showcasing the vibrant diversity within our school community. The sight was nothing short of spectacular.
A special thank you goes to the Sixth Form Senior Leadership Team, who dedicated countless hours to planning and organising the day’s events. From promoting Cultural Day through engaging assemblies and flag knowledge quizzes to coordinating food sales and activities, their hard work was evident throughout the day.
The food stalls were a highlight, offering delicious treats from around the world, including Polish cheesecake and homemade Jollof rice. Throughout the day, we also enjoyed captivating music and food sales, all contributing to the celebration of global cultures.
The day was capped off with a series of stunning traditional dance performances, featuring Indian and African dances, as well as Irish jigs. The enthusiasm and talent displayed by the performers left everyone in awe.
A huge thank you to all the staff who supported the event, both by helping out at lunchtime and by joining in to celebrate with our students. It was a fantastic opportunity to honour and embrace the diverse cultures that make up our school community. We are proud of our school’s rich cultural tapestry and look forward to continuing to celebrate our diversity in future years!
