Last week, our Year 9 and 12 students were given a STEM talk by Dr Stuart Robertson from the University of Loughborough. Dr Robertson is a materials scientist and gave our students an insight into what a material scientist does on a regular day and how to get into material science, discussing apprenticeship routes as well as describing what a PhD in materials science encompasses.
In addition to this, students were treated to a microscopes showcase, demonstrating how these powerful tools help a materials scientist. Our students are looking forward to visiting the University of Loughborough to see them in action soon!
