As part of the History curriculum this term, Year 7 students have been studying Anglo-Saxon England, the impact of the Norman Conquest and the changing nature of power in Medieval England.
We have been fortunate to have acquired some fascinating Viking artefacts (including an axe-head, cooking pan, drinking horn, weighing scales and more), as well as a reconstruction of the famous Anglo-Saxon Sutton Hoo helmet.
We are extremely grateful to Leicester's Creative Learning Services for making this opportunity possible. Students enjoyed spending some time in lessons investigating these items with a more hands-on approach to doing history.
