On 28 February, our Schola Cantorum were invited to Worcester College, Oxford, to join their boy and girl choristers and university Choral Scholars in Evensong.
We are very grateful to Helen Smee, the Director of Music, for facilitating such a fantastic day, which included a tour of the college. During the day, students took part in a vocal workshop, met Music undergraduates and even sat in on an improvisation workshop.
We listened to a talk on research universities and explored the various courses Oxford has on offer. We finished by singing Evensong in the beautiful acoustics of the College's 18th century chapel, famous for its colourful decoration by the Victorian architect, William Burges.
The day finished with pizza, which has become a Schola tradition!
