Safeguarding Assemblies (HSB)

We believe that all children have a right to attend school and learn in a safe environment, free from harm by both adults and other pupils. We recognise that safeguarding concerns can arise from child on child abuse and this abuse can cause both significant physical and emotional harm.

Recently, all students were educated about Harmful Sexual Behaviour in age-appropriate, special assemblies for Years 7-13 by the school's Designated Safeguarding Lead.

Students were reminded to report any concerns they have to a 'trusted adult' (who could be any member of school staff) as soon as they can so that we can act on concerns promptly. Students were also reminded of the option to email wellbeing@englishmartyrs.org to report any wellbeing concerns.

A central part of the assembly was sharing with our students the School Charter Against Harmful Sexual Behaviour which makes clear our school commitment to keeping children safe.

Please see our Safeguarding page for further information, including details of our Designated Safeguarding Team.
