This February saw the first annual Trust Public Speaking Competition organised by Mrs Conagahan, the Principal of St Paul's Catholic School. Students in years 7-11 from St Paul's, St Martin's, De Lisle and English Martyrs' took part in the semi-final held at our school.
Two of our Year 8 students and two of our Year 9 students gave speeches on a variety of relevant and engaging topics in front of judges from the Catenians. They had spent much time planning, writing and practising their speeches before the event and were amongst the youngest participants in the competition. Although we didn't win on this occasion, it was a very worthwhile event. Well done to all our hardworking and ambitious students who participated.
