Year 8 Girls’ Netball - On Tuesday 3rd December, the Year 8 girls had a netball fixture at Soar Valley College. They did exceptional and every single one of players tried their best. They won 4-2 against Rushey Mead, 3-3 to Sir Jonathon North and 1-0 to New College. This is the best we have ever played, thanks to Mrs Lewis and Miss Liburd.


The girls playing were Sharndre, Naomi, Tara, Matilda, Dijika, Shanelle, Tafadzwa, Tsitsi, Laura and Cherish.

Year 10 Girls’ Netball - On Tuesday 29th of November, the year 10 girls had their last game at the Soar Valley netball centre. The girls on the team were Rafaela, Michelle, Nicola, Agatha, Precious, Jessica, Rachel Miranda, Loreto and Fidelis. They had five games where the girls won four of them. Their first game was against Leicester high where they lost 7-2. They then played the Rushey Mead girls where they won 3-2. The third game was against Sir Jonathan north, a great game led them to their third win the score was 5-3, their fourth game was an easy win against soar valley where they won 6-0. Their last game was with St Paul’s with some great passing and amazing shots from Rafaela and Michelle it was not a surprise that the girls also won that game 6-1.


Well-done girls, a good way to end the season!

 

Year 9 Boys Football - On Tuesday 3rd December the year 9 boys’ football team continued their journey in the National Cup with an away fixture in Chesterfield against Lady Manners School. Following a very long bus journey into the Peak District, the boys played them match on a brand new 4G pitch. Despite the long journey English Martyrs’ started the game very well and were dominant throughout the first half and had a 2-1 lead at half time, thanks to goals from Raijaun. After a very competitive second half English Martyrs’ were able to use excellent defending and kept a clean sheet, meaning that the match ended 2-1. They progress onto round 5 now and have been drawn against a school in Sheffield, which they will play next week.
