As part of National Tree Week we planted a number of trees with the help of one of the local parliamentary candidates, Liz Kendall. As part of their campaign to raise awareness of climate change, the protest group Extinction Rebellion gave each member of parliament a tree and was asked to plant it in their constituency. Liz kindly thought of the Eco Martyrs group here and came on Friday 29th November to plant this English Oak, also a Hornbeam, a Holly and several Cherry trees.
The Head Girl, Natasha and the Head Boy, Jacob, along with some Year 7s helped Liz with the planting.
Thank you to Mr Chambers for arranging the event and helping to contribute to our response to the climate emergency and Pope Francis’ call to us all to respond.
