Our own Mr Simeone, who during lockdown is doing a series of Instagram posts for our students called: Composer of the Week, has been featured on BBC Radio 3 again this week.
He is appearing on the radio show, ‘Record Review’, which you can hear every Saturday morning. Each week there is a section where someone reviews all the different recordings of a particular piece, and a “winner” is chosen. In this week’s programme Mr Simeone is the guest speaker who chooses his favourite recording of the very famous opera Hansel and Gretel by the German composer Engelbert Humperdinck. The opera tells the scary fairy tale of Hansel and Gretel who triumph over the wicked witch … in the end.
