Holocaust Memorial Day

In aid of Holocaust Memorial Day, Year 7 took part in a writing competition called 'Ordinary People'. Students had to write a true story based on research about ordinary people involved in aspects of the Holocaust and other genocides. These people included those affected by the current war against Ukraine, victims, refugees, bystanders, perpetrators and witnesses of genocide. The organisers stated that the Year 7 work was: 'Very moving, particularly how the students had empathised so warmly with the individuals whose lives they had researched. It’s very rewarding to see how well the stories are kept alive, especially so when we read the memories from students’ family members whose stories are cherished through the generations.' The following students have been recognised for their extraordinary stories of ordinary people and will be awarded at the Holocaust Memorial Event in Leicester on Saturday 28th January: Filip

Nadia Marta

Catalina Tiara Olaf O’Sheen Antonina Emilia Alicia Keinz

Congratulations and well done to all Year 7 students who took part.
