Students, staff and parents celebrated a morning of noteworthy success for Year 11 students on Thursday 22 August when they received their GCSE results. Students qualified in a great variety of subjects – Religious education, Art, Biology, Business Studies, Catering, Chemistry, Dance, Drama, English Language and Literature, French, Geography, History, Information Technology, Mathematics, Media Studies, Music, Physics, Photography and Textiles.
Exceptional performances included Junior who achieved six grade 9s and three grade 8s – ie six A** grades and 3 A*s! Cleya - five grade 9’s, four grade 8’s, and one grade 7 (“A”); Joshua four grade 9’s, three grade 8’s, two grade 7’s and James four grade 9’s, 5 grade 8’s, and one grade 7. Congratulations to these students and to everyone on a great year of achievement: overall students have achieved very highly indeed.
Students now have the qualifications to ensure that they can access the courses they need next year. Students joining English Martyrs Sixth Form will study four AS levels in Year 12 plus an Extended Project with each subject receiving five hours of teaching per week, i.e. one lesson in each A-Level per day. Induction is at 1pm on Friday 30 August.
