ESU Public Speaking Competition 2019

We are proud of our Year 11 team for representing the school at the Birmingham Branch Final of this competition, hosted by Solihull School on 4th February. Of the six teams who participated, four were from well-established private schools – yet our girls held their own with considerable aplomb.

Angel took a nuanced approach in her confidently delivered speech on possible bias within the judiciary, whilst Nicole and Katie conducted themselves in a friendly, professional manner when working with another young speaker who explored the dangers of anonymity on social media sites.

The standard was exceptionally high, so the girls can consider themselves very unfortunate not to be going through to the next round.
