On Thursday 3rd May, students in year ten took part in mock business interviews with representatives from an array of companies and organisations including The Sytner Group, Santander, British Gas, Pepsico, John Lewis, and the Department for Work and Pensions.
The interviews were designed to provide students with an experience of a real life job interview and required them to reflect on their personal qualities and strengths, as well as outlining their plans for the future. These interviews form part of our wider careers education programme, which ensures that all students move on from English Martyrs’ Catholic School as successful and confident young people fully equipped for the world of work. The opportunity to practice the vital skills needed in an interview with a current employer is a tremendous opportunity and we are extremely thankful to Leicestershire Cares for coordinating the event.
The interviewers were all full of praise for the students and emphasised how impressed they were by the quality of the students’ responses, reflecting their maturity and ambitions for the future.
