As part of the Octave of Prayer for Christian Unity which concludes on the Feast of the Conversion of St Paul, Bishop Martyn Snow - the Anglican Bishop of Leicester - came to speak to the Sixth Form.
Bishop Martyn has an interesting background. Amongst other things he was born in Indonesia; lived and worked in West Africa for some time and originally studied Chemistry not Theology at university.
The Bishop spoke about the importance of “gift” in different cultures and challenged us to seek out ways to share our gift of time with one another - not simply to regard gifts as commercially purchased presents.
Bishop Martyn answered student questions on a wide range of topics including his personal growth in faith and the challenges of holding the office of Bishop whilst being married and having three teenage children! We hope that he will visit us again in future.
