During the academic year all students in years 7-13 at English Martyrs' will be participating in an Inter-House Competition. Students will be required to represent their houses in a range of different events and competitions within all curriculum areas. Students will participate in a range of different events in order to achieve 'house points' which will be awarded based on performance, effort and application. These 'house points' will then be collated from all of the events in school in order to generate a live whole school Inter House leader board.
Each curriculum area within school is providing students with the opportunity to compete against each other in their houses. Some of the activities planned for this academic year include ICT portraits, a yule log cooking competition, readathons, ICT/reading rampage, Fibonacci week quiz, music singing competitions, Inter form football, psychology revision quizzes and many more...
The final opportunity for students to win house points will be on Friday 3th July 2020 at the annual English Martyrs' Sports Day. Once this event has taken place the final leader board will be calculated and the winning house will be awarded the English Martyrs' Inter-House trophy during the whole school mass in the final week of term. In addition to this, all students in the winning house will also be rewarded with an afternoon off timetable in the next academic year to watch a film of their choice in the school auditorium, an excellent way to celebrate their efforts with each other and their head of house.
